Tan France’s Closet: In Progress
Designing a closet for any client is always exciting, but when fashion expert Tan France of the Netflix series Queer Eye asked us to design his dream closet, we were completely honored to jump right in.
Tan and his Husband, Rob, recently purchased and renovated their dream home in a charming, historic neighborhood in Salt Lake City. Although their home is nearly perfect for them, the small closet space in the master bedroom isn’t cutting it for Tan’s major collection of shoes and clothing. Enter the solution: The attic, which previous homeowners had converted into a bonus room.
While its peaked ceilings are certainly charming, they create a bit of a challenge when it comes to maximizing storage space. We’re taking advantage of the depth of the room and incorporating plenty of custom drawers, shelves, and hanging racks to accommodate Tan’s enviable wardrobe.
This handsome space will be clad floor-to-ceiling in elegant striped wallpaper in varying shades of green, accompanied by subtle plaid carpet and tied together with dark cabinetry. A custom window bench, upholstered in velvet gives the space a polished luxury and a partnering ottoman will serve as a comfortable spot for putting on shoes.
It’s all still in the construction phase, but we’re counting down the days until it’s finally complete. Stay tuned for the final reveal!
