Let's Talk Chairs

Chairs are the hero in every space. They tell you what a room can be. Chairs are inviting, comfortable, statement makers, and more. This week on Dear Alice, we talk about our favorite features of a chair. 

Curves & Movement. These are two of the biggest trends in furniture right now, curves and movement. There are so many hard, geometric lines in a space (think cabinets, shelves, furniture pieces) that adding curves really softens and elevates the room. Then, movement of a swivel, glider, or rocker gives an organic, soothing feel. We created our Harvey Swivel Chair with these two ideas in mind. We think it is the perfect blend of curves and movement. 

Comfort & Style. A chair that is comfortable is inviting, guests want to stay longer and enjoy. We love a comfortable sit. Add in a stylish, timeless design and that is the perfect chair. As much as you can, try sitting in a chair before you buy especially if you are looking for comfort to be sure it matches your height, body type, and comfort level. This is where our Jude Lounger comes into play. We made dozens of prototypes to find the perfect pitch of the back, comfortable sit, and luxurious upholstery. 

Occasional & Statement. Chairs can make a powerful statement and we love to use them as occasional and accent chairs. This could be a unique design, bold features, vivid upholstery, or hand crafted. Look for what catches your eye and makes you stop and take a double look. Our Felix Chair is one of our favorite occasional chairs. Its tall back, gold trim, and terra velvet upholstery add an elegant design to any space.
