Celebrating 15 Years
This week on Dear Alice, we explore how Alice Lane begin. Our story starts in 2008 when Jessica and Adam Bennett decided to take a leap of faith and open an interior design store. Encouraged by a close friend, they decided to sell their home and invest everything they had into this new venture. They sold their dream home on Alice Lane, which they decided to name the store after, paying homage to where it all begin.
They found their perfect location in Orem, Utah, and remodeled the store. They filled the store with furniture and opened with three employees, Jessica, Adam, and Jessica’s brother Jake. It wasn’t long until Suzanne noticed the store when out with her family and came in for a visit. Suz was hired and a beautiful partnership begin. Jess and Suz started designing homes and meeting with clients from all over. Inspired by Adam’s words ‘high tides raises all boats’ they started to build Alice Lane.
Next, we opened a Showroom in Salt Lake City, Utah at Trolley Square. At the same time, other branches of Alice Lane started taking off. We created a Trade Program for other design professionals, continued building our Interior Design program, and started our online store. Then, Jess and Suz wanted a platform to answer client questions, so they started the Dear Alice podcast. Throughout this process, Jess was noticing holes in the market and decided she could create the products that would fill those holes. She began designing and creating her product line exclusive to Alice Lane.
Now, Alice Lane continues to thrive and we are celebrating our 15th anniversary. We built and opened our Showroom in Draper, Utah, filling it with our exclusive products. Jess has designed hundreds of products and she continues to create more. Join our Insiders to get first access to new arrivals and sales. You can sign up here.
